The research into Chance Reflections first started in around 2005, with the domestic glassware made by Chance Brothers. This culminated in a book called Chance Expressions that was published in 2007.
But it was not until 2010 that the Chance Archives finally made the journey from St Helens to it's ancestral home in Smethwick. Plenty of fresh information justified another book being written that filled in a lot of the gaps previously unanswered in Chance Expressions. This new book was named Chance Additions, published in 2014.
During this time, Chance Reflections started to take shape and started to grow. And grow. And ... etc.
As of 1st September 2024, the word count for the entire work of ten volumes exceeds 670,000 words.

I took the decision sometime in 2023 that all eleven volumes of the book were simply too expensive for many people to afford – a guesstimate indicated at least £300. But as I felt this information should be available to all, the decision made was straightforward.
Hence the reason why the entire work is being offered as a freely-downloadable PDF, with no strings attached, apart from a recognition that this work is copyrighted. The work must not be distributed without the permission of the author (me).
A printed book will be available for those who would prefer not to be stuck to a screen. Printed copies will be available by special order. No firm details at present, but hard-bound with a slip case to contain all eleven volumes is envisaged. Please use the contact form if you would like a printed copy.
The illegal selling or distribution of a printout will be pursued through legal channels. I'm giving it away for nothing – please respect this.
